Houston is ranked 34th out of the top 70 largest cities in America by percentage of bike commuters with a 0.8% mode share according to the American Census Survey. Houston also is ranked as a Bronze level cycling city by the League of American Bicyclists, the first level. There is no reason why Houston can’t be at the highest ranking of Platinum with over 5% mode share in the next 10 years. This will only happen if Houstonians unite and ask for change by joining as a member of BikeHouston, engaging in the democratic process, and riding bikes more often.
