BikeHouston presents its latest newsletter Spoke&Word #15

May Bike Month was a blast, with many great events. BikeHouston’s staff and volunteer crew was able to sign up more than 130 new members and they talked to much more people with bikes in effort to engage them to support BikeHouston and the quest for better bike facilities, more law enforcement to protect cyclists on the road and ongoing education of all road users. You can read more about past and upcoming events and the work BikeHouston does in the monthly newsletter Spoke&Word. If you did not receive the newsletter you can sign up here, or become a member. Spoke&Word comes out every first day of the month, so the next issue Spoke&Word #16 is due July 1st. One immediately opportunity to engage would be to attend one of the upcoming planning meetings which are being held to collect ideas for the Houston Bike Plan. There will be four meetings in June and participation is critical. Please do communicate your concerns with current road conditions and your hopes for the future. This can be done in person at one of the meetingsĀ or online. The Houston Bike Plan will be completed in 2016. The quality of the plan and the speed of implementation will improve as more people get involved....
