BikeHouston volunteers make Houston a better place to ride. Our volunteers engage in a wide range of activities, including outreach, office work, and community activism. Sign up for something today or reach out to our Volunteer Manager with your questions at Volunteer@bikehouston.org.
We deeply appreciate our volunteers and offer a free volunteer membership for people who volunteer at least 10 hours within a three-month period. Simply start volunteering to begin logging hours toward your volunteer membership. Once you have logged 10 volunteer hours, email us at Volunteer@bikehouston.org to get your membership.
How can you help?
Advocates and Ambassadors: We need volunteers who are passionate about building a safer Houston and want to get involved in the political process to make this happen. Our ambassadors help us get community feedback and buy-in for Bike Plan projects. We also ask ambassadors to help us leverage community support into political and financial support. Please fill out this short survey to get started. You can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
Builders: We would love to have someone build us nifty things a bicycle advocacy organization should have for events and parades! We can pay for materials.
Events: You can volunteer as a ride leader or assistant, at an outreach table, bike valet or bike tune-up at community events. Take a look at our events calendar to see what’s available.
Event Planning: Help plan for events big and small, from our monthly socials to the BikeHouston Moonlight Ramble.
Fundraising: If you have experience with grants or fundraising, we would love to have your support.
Office Volunteers: Help out with data entry, mailings, and other tasks. We ask that office volunteers commit to at least two hours per month, and would love to see a bigger commitment.
Tech Support: Help set up computers and keep our computers and printers in order.
If you have a desire to volunteer in any of these areas, or have special skills you can share, email us and let us know your availability and what you can do.
