I Bike I Vote 2015

Houston city Elections are not over! A runoff election will be held on Dec. 12th for the following City of Houston positions:

  • Mayor
  • Controller
  • At Large Council Seats 1, 2, 4 and 5
  • District seats F, H and J.

Details on the runoff election can be found at Harris Votes and will be similar to standard elections. Early voting will run from Dec. 2nd to Dec. 8th and election day is the 12th. The voting location will be the same as where you voted in November.

Your vote in the runoff election is critical. In the last runoff election only 50,000 people voted out of 2.9 million people in Houston. In other words, your vote is counting for 50. If you want more safe places to ride, please go vote and bring all your friends with you. You can decide who to vote for based on candidates responses to our questionnaire about bicycling issues. We are updating our website currently to show all of the responses we have received from candidates. Please check back if a race you are interested in does not have candidate responses listed online yet.

BikeHouston is hosting another Tour de Vote’ or group ride to the polls on December 6th. Start the day early with the Bayou Riders at Market Square park at 9 am. The ride will finish at the early voting location just 2 blocks away from Market Square. Details here. This is a fun way to go vote and to demonstrate the political power of people on bikes!

You must register to vote by Oct. 5th.

Read the candidates’ responses to our Questionnaire here. View a sample ballot here.

Early voting begins Dec. 2nd and runs through Dec. 8th.  Dec. 12th is general voting. Join us at our Bayou Ride and Tour de Vote on Dec. 6th at  9 am for a group bayou ride ending at the polls.
